Over a 20-year career, including more than 15 years in the food industry, Dr. Tanus has developed strong expertise in the areas of Food Microbiology, Food Safety and Quality Systems. Prior to joining Butterball in 2014, Dr. Tanus held key positions in Microbiology and Technical Services at Triumph Foods, in addition to his experience in the Food Ingredients industry. He earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and a master's degree in Quality and Productivity Systems from Tecnológico de Monterrey, in addition to a PhD in Food Science (with a strong focus on Food Safety) at Kansas State University.
