Energy utilization and growth performance of chickens fed novel wheat inbred lines selected for different pentosan levels with and without xylanase supplementation

The studies in this paper show that the growth performance of broiler chickens fed different wheat samples is negatively correlated to their total pentosan content in a linear fashion. This information may be of practical importance to plant breeders who may be able to incorporate reduced total pentosan content in the development of new feed wheat cultivars.
